Bang Chop Thai Kitchen invites Chef Christopher Stepan who specializes in delectable brunch fare to do a Brunch Pop-up on Sunday June 9 from 11am to 3pm.  

As you know from past events at Bang Chop, we aim to bring unique dining experiences from guest Chefs who are passionate about the food business and is looking to launch their brands to the downtown market. Since we are only doing lunch and catering, we opened up our kitchen on weeknights/weekends to help and support local entrepreneurs to get their start because we know how hard it is to open a restaurant, especially in the West Loop with so many competitions and big brands around us. So far we hosted Chef Tigist Reda to introduce Ethiopian food at one of our events and she now has a stand at the Chicago French Market called Demera to Go. Recently we helped Chef Margaret Pak with couple events to launch her South Indian cuisine concept which will soon open as Thattu at Politan Row (a new food hall at McDonald's new headquarter). Not only do we love supporting these independent chefs/owners to become successful, we want the community around us here to experience cuisines that is not easily accessible or available to them at a reasonable price.  

Following on the helm of our last successful brunch event in March, we are bringing you a very special brunch menu created by Chef Christopher Stepan who has a catering business and is now looking to launch an online specialty breads company and retail store called Brown Butter Cafe. His brunch menu below will be served buffet style and include virgin cocktails, coffee and tea. It's also BYOB so bring your favorite alcoholic beverage to go with this delicious menu.

All inclusive $45 per person. Here are the available time slots to choose from: (11:00-1pm, 11:30-1:30pm, 12:00-2pm, 12:30-2:30pm, 1pm-2:30pm, 1:30pm-3pm)


Puerto Rican Pernil - Heavily seasoned, long-cooked pork with supremely crispy skin rubbed with a flavorful herb and spice paste called a sofrito

Gravlax - Fresh and floral cured Salmon Filet served with Russian Honey Mustard sauce and Black Pumpernickel.

Eggs 3 ways - Omelette, Hole in the Middle, and Brioche French Toast with eggs any style 

Thai Curry Risotto – A delicate Coconut Curry rice risotto with vegetables

An Assortment of Brown Butter Cafe Breads –  

This selection will include Black Rum Banana Bread, Irish Whiskey Butternut Squash Bread (w/ Pecans), Black Velvet (Chocolate Cherry) Bread, Apple Bourbon Raisin, and Asian Zucchini Bread (Green tea and Mirin).


An assortment of Virgin Cocktails, Tea, and Thai Coffee - Virgin Cocktail Blends to include, Golden Mary Mix, Cucumber Mojito, and Virgin Mimosa. Feel free to BYOB and these Virgin cocktails will be available for you to mix.
